Mint Chocolate Cookie Creami

amandajeren

March calls for girl scout cookies, shamrock shakes, and college basketball. This ninja creami recipe will be just what you need as you watch your favorite team move up the bracket!

We got the ninja creami for Christmas and it was one of the best investments ever. As a personal trainer who prioritizes high protein snackss and meals, this invention was a genius one. Not only do I enjoy eating high protein foods, but I am also a type one diabetic. So having the option to create an ice cream with half the carbs and fat allows me to bolus less and with more accuracy. The creami has done wonders with making treats and indulgencies healthier and higher in protein.

As I have spent the last three month perfecting the creami recipes, I bring to you one of my favorite yet! The girl-scout cookie inspired prptein ice cream tastes just like a thin mint cookie.

As with all creami recipes, it's imporant to create a base with some speicific ingredients to ensure the ice cream turns out creamy. A high quality protein powder, like Legion, is my favorite go-to. I add in a serving of collagen as well as I've found this keeps the end result from being "icey".

The mix-in's are where I liked to get creative. It's easy to add in ingreidents that aren't as healthy; but I try to use brands that are at least organic, non-gmo, or contain zero artificial sweeteners. For this recipe, I replaced the classic girlscout cookie with Back To Nature's Fudge Mint cookies.

I enjoy making creami's as a post-workout meal. Hear me out; it's like a protein shake except using a spoon. Because I make these creami's filling and high in protein, I don't mind using it as a meal replacement every now and again. However if you want this creami as a snack, below are the calorie + macro counts for an entire pint. An easy way to deduct 100 cals is by not using the protein peanut butter.. however, the peanut butter gives an extra chocolatey-mint spread that compliments the creami nicely.
